Project

Surf Coast Highway and Bristol Avenue, Torquay Traffic Signals & Civil Design

The project was delivered in three stages as follows:

  1. Stage 1 – Initial co-design with stakeholders resulting in the development of a series of design options (functional layout plans) that were reviewed by the relevant stakeholders, principally Department of Transport (DOT). Traffic analyses and service locating were performed to inform the development of high-level options and costings in this stage. A preferred option was then developed that resulted in the approval of functional layout plan by DOT.
  2. Stage 2 – The development of the detailed design and detailed cost estimate based on the agreed functional layout plan including geotechnical pavement design, civil design (including drainage), electrical design, lighting design, detailed service location and signal design.
  3. Stage 3 – The development of all documentation (final design, bill of quantities, construction specification, works schedule and construction set out) to allow tendering and construction of works (future project).
