Safe System Solutions Pty Ltd was engaged by the Victorian Department of Transport to develop the technical guidelines for the planning, technical design and implementation of compact roundabouts. This involved investigation into compact roundabouts in Australia and around the world, stakeholder engagement and consultation with various industry groups.

The technical document is to be used for the State Government’s Low Cost Roundabout Program and is the only technical guideline in Australia or New Zealand for these specific roundabouts whose size lies between that of a mini roundabout and a standard roundabout.
