Safe System Solutions was appointed as the Independent Road Safety Experts by the NSW Government to evaluate nine existing speed camera locations.
The review was performed to understand if these cameras are still providing a safety benefit and should remain or if they should be removed. These complex evaluations involved a review of crash data for each site, road operation, road safety treatments, consultation with stakeholders, and a detailed site inspection. Information from all these sources were then considered before making a recommendation.
Because our transport network is always changing, it’s important to undertake these reviews to ensure our system is operating effectively, fairly and giving us the biggest road safety gains possible.
