Is texting and riding becoming an issue?
In a study in the Netherlands, de Waard et al. found that 3.4% of crashes involved cyclists listening to music and only 0.3% talking on a hand-held mobile phone, and only 0.2% texting. A distractive factor that was mentioned more often than device use was talking to another cyclist: 12.6%.
