Safe System Solutions Pty Ltd was engaged by VicRoads Metro South East Region to develop pedestrian safety infrastructure improvements for Camberwell Junction and surrounding areas.

The projects involved undertaking detailed crash analysis of the area, identifying high risk locations, developing concept designs, costing the project elements and undertaking assessments of the impact of improvements on traffic and road safety. The project innovated through the implementation of an area 40km/h speed zone that interacted with variable strip shopping centre speed zones, school speed zones and arterial roads. The output of the project was a comprehensive scope approval report that was submitted to the TAC for funding.
