Safe System Solutions’ technical training programs are more than just workshops, offering participants one-on-one coaching and guidance from experienced practitioners – and this support doesn’t end when the course does.

Whether the training is delivered as live online workshops or in person, every participant is offered 30-minute sessions with experienced graders and receives practical feedback and resources they can use immediately in their role.

Participants are also connected with industry experts who are available to answer their questions – even once their course is complete.

Training Manager, Kathy Doukouris, said this high level of tailored support sets Safe System Solutions apart from many other professional development training providers.

“Our road safety technical training is not a presentation and a CPD tick box – our experienced presenters and engineering practitioners make sure every participant gets the guidance, coaching and resources they need to apply what they learn in the real world straight away,” she said.

“The goal of Safe System Solutions is to make the roads a safer place for everyone and a key part of achieving that is building the capability and skills of practitioners who are responsible for planning and designing road safety infrastructure across the network.”

'Engaging and relevant'

Kathy said depending on the particular training course, participants are kept engaged through a range of quizzes, tasks, on-site practical learning and assignments, with guidance and support at every step of the way.

“Even after participants successfully complete their training, our experienced presenters reach out to connect and offer ongoing support – for example, we share monthly industry news and updates with everyone who completes our Road Safety Audit course,” she said.

“We often receive feedback about the high level of attention and support our participants receive.”

One recent Road Safety Audit participant, Nairobi-based traffic engineer Tony Frank, described the Safe System Solutions training course as comprehensive and practical.

“The quality of the instruction was excellent, and the instructors were experienced practitioners, which made the learning experience more engaging and relevant,” he said.
