Advanced Driver Training does not work.
The research is clear that these courses contribute little to post-licence reductions in casualty crashes or traffic violations. There is also considerable evidence that driver training that attempts to impart advanced skills (such as skid control) to learner drivers is likely to contribute to INCREASED crash risk, particularly among young males. This pattern of results has been confirmed and replicated across numerous studies conducted around the world over the last 30 years.
