The 2021 Mercedes S-Class jumps 8cm just before it is struck from the side by another vehicle.
Side-mounted radar sensors are able to recognise and track a potential side impact, and the suspension raises the body of the vehicle upwards by up to 8cm. As a result, deformation of the passenger cell and the loads acting on the occupants can be reduced.
