As part of this I have assessed the details of past designs, audits, technical reviews and Safe System Assessments for raised safety platforms and raised intersections on major arterial roads. Victoria already has 8 built and many more in the pipeline.
These raised safety platforms are Safe System in action. By reducing vehicle speeds at conflict points we reduce both the likelihood and severity of crashes. The theory is sound, and the technical detail to implement them is available and proven.
