Safe System Solutions Pty Ltd was engaged to design and develop a five-year Road Safety Strategy for South Gippsland Shire Council. This Strategy aimed to align Council road safety activity with the Safe System approach and Towards Zero.
The Road Safety Strategy was based on a detailed study of crash history in the Shire, extensive community consultation and discussions with road safety stakeholders. Key road safety improvement themes were identified and a detailed action plan was developed.
