Safe System Solutions Pty Ltd was engaged by Regional Roads Victoria (NE) to undertake motorcycle safety audits that would be used to develop an infrastructure improvement plan for sections of the regional road network. Three route-based audits covered 300km of road including the Murray Valley Highway, Murray River Road and Shelly Walwa Road. Audits were conducted by an experienced rider, on a motorcycle, riding in front of a car with Road Safety Auditors. Report findings including issues, locations, photos and recommendations were presented using an interactive tool.

SSS also developed the project scopes, cost estimation, calculated BCRs and developed the Scope Approval Reports and funding submission.

Over $3M was awarded to the region for installation of safety improvements on these routes based on these reports.
