I still maintain the Victorian Government should have accepted my moustache as an N95 mask.

Now, back to the point of this post:
I was explaining Abraham blockouts, RocketBloc, and Ezy-Lift to one of our graduate engineers the other day and dug out Safe System Snippet 65 of 551 (so far). (Hence the photos of those masked site inspection days).

Here’s the Snippet from back in 2020:

____________

The height of a road safety barrier is an important feature to ensure that it contains and redirects a vehicle. The greatest concern is the barrier being too low as it increases the likelihood of a vehicle vaulting the barrier. Barrier systems have increased in height in recent years to reflect changes in the vehicle fleet, particularly an increase in the prevalence of vehicles with higher centres of gravity such as SUVs. Road resurfacing works can also result in a reduction in the effective height of a barrier.

Abraham blockouts can be retrofitted to some existing systems that are too low without having to replace the whole system.

Had we written that Snippet today we certainly would have had more details about RocketBloc which not only raises height of a G4/Type B, but also makes it MASH compliant. Check it out here.
