$3M+ for motorcycle safety infrastructure.
The Safe System Solutions team was engaged by the Victorian Government to undertake motorcycle safety audits and develop an infrastructure improvement plan for key sections of the regional road network.
Three route-based audits were completed, covering over 300 kilometres of the Murray Valley Highway, Murray River Road and Shelly Walwa Road. The audits were carried out our experienced rider on a motorcycle, riding ahead of a vehicle carrying Road Safety Auditors to capture real-world rider perspectives.
Audit findings were documented through an interactive reporting tool that presented issues, locations, photographs and recommendations in an accessible format.
Building on these findings, Safe System Solutions developed detailed project scopes, cost estimates and benefit-cost ratios, as well as the Scope Approval Reports and funding submissions.
As a result of this work, more than $3 million was awarded to the region to deliver targeted safety upgrades along these priority motorcycle routes helping to create a safer, more forgiving road network for all riders.
